NNMA, UEA ISOC and FOSIS Call for an Immediate End to the Siege on Gaza

Local Discussion

The NNMA, UEA ISOC and FOSIS and the Federation of Student Islamic Societies (FOSIS) in the UK and Eire today condemned the inhumane siege imposed on Gaza.

Ali Alhadithi, President of FOSIS, said today, “What we are witnessing is a humanitarian catastrophe and an act of collective punishment on the entire population of Gaza. The Israeli attacks on the territory throughout the week killed and injured tens of civilians, including innocent women and children.

The economic blockade imposed on Gaza has led to a power crisis that will affect hospitals, medical clinics, water wells, houses, factories and all aspects of life. We all call upon Israel to end this blockade, immediately and unconditionally, to facilitate the lives of the innocent”

He further added, “We call upon our government, the United Nations, and the International Community to intervene and pressure the Israeli government to restore basic human rights to the people of Gaza.”

It is despicable to witness an act of such destruction and denial of basic human rights and remain silent. Our prayers, thoughts and concerns are with all those people suffering in Palestine and in particular the Gaza region.

We pray for a quick and peaceful end to yet another humanitarian catastrophe brought on by the Israeli occupation.
