Click here for Adhan, the Muslim call to prayer Welcome to the education and learning area of this site It is intended that it should provide a useful forum and resource for both Muslims and people wishing to learn about Islam, be they studying or learning in school or beyond and for teachers and schools as well. Education is a central tennet of Islam. The search for knowledge is considered to be a religious priority which is essential for individual guidance and achievement and also a requirement for the wellbeing of society as a whole. "Truly knowledge is greater than wealth, for unlike wealth it increases the more it is expended of". Thus in Islam not only is knowledge itself greatly valued, but also those who teach it are respected as are those who learn and thereby become learned. As Muslims we believe that learning should be enjoyable and about this the prophet Muhammad may peace and blessings be upon him advised believers to strive to learn something new every day. The road of learning is open to anyone who sets out on it, no matter how young or old. It is for all people wherever they may be male or female, rich or poor, strong or weak or of any nation, race or colour and to seek to increase in knowledge every day is a guiding principle of a Muslim's life. If you have any questions or comments, please visit the education forum. |
